It is so unreal to me all of the sacrifices that Jesus made for us.

Between church, family get-togethers, and sweet treats from the bunny, please take a moment to pause and think about the reality of the situation. Can you even imagine being hung on a cross?

Because of Jesus, we are able to know God intimately. We can lean on Him ALWAYS.

There are an overwhelming amount of national (insert something here) days and months, but this is one I can wholeheartedly support!

I love paper goods, greeting cards, and sending & receiving letters.  During college, I would always send cards back to my parents and grandparents, even though I saw them at least once a month.  I also love to send thank you notes.  If someone goes out of their way for you, you can go out of your way to send them a thank you to show your appreciation!

I also was on the receiving end of this practice lately, when I received a sweet card from one of my best friends from college who knew I was going through a tough couple of weeks.  Not only was the note inside perfect, but the pure fact that I got something fun in the mail brightened my day.

Here are some every-occasion cards I’ve had my eye on.  Get writing!

Favorite Things March 2015

These are a few of my favorite thingsss…

These are a few tried and true favorites, as well as some items I’ve had my eye on for a while!

1. Trader Joe’s Fireworks Chocolate: Baby you’re a firework! I got this as a treat for my guy and I on Valentines Day, mostly based on the packaging. I have since bought like 10 of these bars. It’s a mix of dark chocolate, hot spice, salt, and pop rocks. So weird, but so good. Also, it is quite entertaining to give some to an unsuspecting person and watch their reaction as the pop rocks kick in!

2. Stella and Dot Rebel Pendant: I have had this necklace for about two years, and it is such an easy piece to wear. Throw it on by itself or layer it…looks great either way. I have the gold and silver, but get much more wear out of the gold.

3. Asos Dress: It’s currently on sale! This would be a great fall to winter to spring transition piece. Dress it up with heels and a statement necklace, or dress it down with a chunky, long cardigan and ankle boots.

4. Anthropologie Euclidean Pendant: I wish I had somewhere to put this! Love that it is a solid enough to draw the eye to, but is airy and delicate at the same time.

5. I Just Want To Drink Coffee T-shirt: This is my life. On my birthday wish-list.

6. Surf Waiting Painting: Beautiful sea glass colors and serene subject. I could stare at this all day, especially during Michigan winters.

7. T-Swizzle, Style: Okay, first of all, I am so glad that she transitioned to pop.  Second, the guy has two different colored eyes. Stunning! Third, this song reminds me of a love from summers passed. Takes me back to butterflies, high school, and gets me pretty psyched for this upcoming summer.  I could listen to this all day.

What are some of your current favorites?

Each year I end up writing down resolutions, but I kind of get carried away…I make like 10 resolutions and each resolution has multiple, specific bullet points.  I make it nearly impossible for myself to accomplish every resolution.  Then, I look back on the year and feel bad because of the resolutions that I couldn’t keep up with.  This year, I am choosing not to look back on my resolutions for 2014, but instead, to reflect on the things that I did accomplish.

1.  Foot surgeries are out of the way!  I am still working to gain flexibility, but the hard part is over.

2.  I got a new job.  I still miss my old co-workers which were the best part about my old job, but it felt like a weight was lifted as I moved on from a draining position. This new job has made me step out of my comfort zone, as well as become more assertive, and I think this has reflected in my personal life too.

3. I moved into a new flat.  I have never lived by myself, which took a bit to get used to.  However, I love not dealing with other roommate’s messes!  This has been a really fun project for me since I love interior design.  I have had to budget and pace myself, but I am looking forward to continuing to build a space that I love.

4.  I have moved on from friendships that felt draining, unfulfilling or one-sided.  I have learned to direct my energy towards people who will make the same effort for me.  Along with this, my friends have created some fun traditions over this year, such as monthly dinners, wine club, and up north trips.  I look forward to more of these in the new year!

5. The bf got a new puppy, Mikey!  Now, I know this isn’t an accomplishment of mine, but Mikey has been a welcome addition to my life.  He has already taught us a lot about love, patience and responsibility, and I’m sure will continue to do so.  He has also helped me gain a personal connection to a cause that I have always felt passionate about…rescuing dogs.

So what would I like to accomplish in 2015? (and in keeping in line with my previous statements, these are overall, blanket goals)…

1.  Make my health a priority.  I started off 2014 feeling pretty, blah, with having a month + of sitting around and elevating my foot.  I took my time with the recovery so not to push it too much.  A year later, I am ready to get back into a routine.  I would like to get to bed at a decent hour, drink more water, eat healthier, start practicing yoga, and build muscle that was lost during my recovery time.

2. Work on this blog.  I keep allowing life to get in the way and push this back, but I think having this little passion project will make me happier.

3.  Save more money.  Dolla dolla bills y’all.

4. Travel.  Whether this be weekend trips or longer vacations, I always feel more adventurous and ready to take on the world after experiencing a new place.

5.  Help rescue dogs.  I am very emotional when it comes to this topic, so I know that I would have a hard time actually volunteering in a shelter.  However, I know that there are things I can do, and I plan to narrow that down.

What have you accomplished in 2014?  What would you like to do in 2015?
